Heiner Lobenberg welcomes you in shorts and a white Oxford shirt. The 63-year-old runs the business of the online wine shop that bears his name, “Lobenbergs Gute Weine”, the largest owner-run wine retailer in Germany. And as such, it appeals more to connoisseurs more willing to pay: The turnover per bottle has been between 25 and 30 euros for years. Lobenberg is known to sell stories with wine.
