There is a change of direction in the finance division of Volkswagen. Division CEO Lars Henner Santelmann, in office since September 2015, will leave the company on January 31, 2022, the Wolfsburg-based automaker announced Thursday. His departure is at his own request. Santelmann will focus on environmental and nature protection tasks in the future. His successor will be Christian Dahlheim, currently in charge of sales at the automaker.
Santelmann made a significant contribution to the further development of the finance division, said Volkswagen Financial Services Supervisory Board Chairman, Volkswagen CFO Arno Antlitz. “In particular, the organizational realignments as well as the alignment for a new direct and digital business model have been shaped by him,” he said.
Regarding Santelmann’s successor, Dahlheim, the group said that with him a top manager recognized throughout the group was coming back to Volkswagen Financial Services. Dahlheim started his career in 2005 as Head of Corporate Development at Volkswagen Financial Services and has gone through many career stages there. From early 2016 to September 2018, he was already a member of the Volkswagen Financial Services Management Board. He then became Sales Director of the Volkswagen Group in October 2018.
