Trade dispute: China and the United States talk again
After a long pause, US and Chinese negotiators resumed talks to resolve the trade war between the two largest economies. After the presentation of the United States’ new trade strategy with China earlier this week, US Trade Representative Katherine Tai and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He spoke on Saturday about their differences via video link. China’s state-run news agency Xinhua reported that the two sides had expressed their main concerns and agreed to address mutual “legitimate concerns” through consultations. There was also an exchange on the implementation of the agreement on the first phase of the resolution of the three-year trade war. The negotiators wanted to continue their dialogue, Xinhua wrote.
