On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, the second strike of the German train drivers’ union – GDL for short – ended. Deutsche Bahn now wants to resume normal activities as soon as possible. Thousands of regional and long-distance trains came to a standstill. Many passengers have sat and stood close to each other – and this amid the pandemic.
But the next wave of strikes is already looming, says Markus Balser. The SZ Capital correspondent does not see that the parties to the negotiation have converged. And GDL boss Claus Weselsky gives a belligerent impression.
