Streaming service podcasts help Spotify economy

Streaming market leader Spotify is taking advantage of its podcast offensive. In the last quarter, advertising revenue jumped 75% year-on-year to 323 million euros. Their share of all Spotify business has increased from 9% to 13%. Spotify had invested heavily in expanding the podcast offering in recent months with acquisitions and exclusive offers. Subscription revenue grew 22% to around $ 2.18 billion in the third quarter, and Spotify now has 172 million subscribed customers. The free version with advertising is now available to 220 million users, an increase of ten million. By the end of the year, Spotify expects up to 181 million subscribed customers and 407 million total users.
