Manufacturer – Henkel increases sales – economy

Consumer goods maker Henkel is weathering the pandemic relatively well. The group, known for brands such as Persil, Pril and Schwarzkopf, but also for its industrial adhesives, increased its sales in the first half of 2021 by 4.7% to nearly ten billion euros, while its profits increased by 21.4% to 942 million euros. The adhesives business benefited in particular from the global economic recovery, but the cosmetics division and the detergents and cleaners business also grew. Nonetheless, Henkel fears the negative effects of sharply rising raw material costs and strained supply chains in the coming months.
