Interview with Franz Kotteder
His hotel “Bachmair Weissach” on Lake Tegernsee is one of Germany’s most famous seaside resorts for the rich and, like all hotels, has had an extremely difficult year. But that didn’t stop Korbinian Kohler, 53, from buying the traditional Wildbad Kreuth, formerly a legendary CSU retreat under Franz Josef Strauss, with a long lease last December. He wants to make it a “mental retreat”. The Kohler family owns the Gmund stationery, founded in 1829. It produces high quality fine paper, until 2004 he was general manager with his brother Florian, then he got paid. He is married to artist Susanne Kohler and has four children.
