Wolfgang Heckl is the Managing Director of the Deutsches Museum. He talks about his main task, collecting money, men’s costume for life and the biggest problem of any collector.
Interview by Barbara Hordych
Wolfgang Heckl’s office is in the library opposite the entrance to the Deutsches Museum. On the first floor, the path to the CEO passes in front of oil paintings showing the first views of the Deutsches Museum – from the still provisional construction in 1914 until the museum opened on May 5, 1925. This image is on loan from Heckl himself. The Experimental Physik teacher is an avid collector, as evidenced by the jukeboxes and radios in his spacious office.
