Gauselmann – NRW sells casinos – economy

North Rhine-Westphalia has sold the state-owned casino company Westspiel to the Gauselmann gaming group for 141.8 million euros. The purchase price was communicated to the Land Parliament on Thursday. The contract was signed on September 1, said Finance Minister Lutz Lienenkämper (CDU). The competition authorities had previously given their approval. At the end of July, it became known that Gauselmann had prevailed against other competitors of the Westspiel group. At first, nothing was said about the purchase price. The Espelkamp family business now controls the four existing casinos in North Rhine-Westphalia, and Gauselmann also has the option of opening two more casinos.
