Lieferando owner Just Eat Takeaway is seeing more losses due to its expansion. In the end, the food delivery service recorded a loss of almost half a billion euros in the first half of the year, following a loss of 59 million euros in the same period of the previous year. The Dutchman, who recently completed the buyout of Grubhub, spent nearly € 300m on advertising in the first six months of the year, more than three times more than at the same time of year former. Sales increased by more than half to 2.6 billion euros. The gross value of transactions, i.e. the total of all orders via the Group’s platforms, increased by almost half to 14.1 billion euros. In Germany, orders for the Lieferando brand increased by 62% to almost 80 million.
