Equities – Dax remains just below the record – economy

Before the Fed decides on monetary policy, the Dax Barely moved on Wednesday. The announcement of the resolutions took place in the evening after the close of trading in Europe. The German benchmark index ended the trading session barely changed at 15,960 points and was therefore still within the range of its previous high of 16,030 points.

In the case of individual stocks, an influx of company balance sheets in particular has led to significant price jumps. In Dax, Zalando had to retire after disappointing quarterly figures. The expansion strategy and the easing of corona restrictions weighed on the profits of Europe’s largest online fashion retailer. The shares lost almost nine percent of their value. Siemens Energy also fell, with stocks falling 6.6%. A skeptical prospect from Vestas has troubled the industry. The world’s largest wind turbine maker has revised its performance target for 2021 to around four percent, from five to seven percent previously. Vestas shares have at times fallen by more than 18%. In S-Dax, Nordex fell ten percent.

With investors, however, BMW was able to score with increased sales and profits. “This is an impressive achievement considering how burdened automakers are with disruptions to global supply chains,” said J├╝rgen Molnar, capital markets strategist at RoboMarkets. Rising prices for new and used cars helped BMW increase sales in the summer quarter. The shares rose 1.4 percent. Qiagen was also a topic of conversation in Dax. Speculation over a merger with French rival Biomerieux has pushed shares of the diagnostic company up 4.8% to their highest level in 21 years. Bloomberg reported, citing insiders, that the two companies would probe the merits of a merger. Biomerieux gained six percent at its peak.

Investors reacted with relief Wall Street on the US Federal Reserve’s monetary policy decisions to gradually reduce crisis aid issued during the corona pandemic. The three most important indices Dow Jones, S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite technology index each reached new records.
