Cyber attack – data breach at T-Mobile US – economy

The American telecom subsidiary T-Mobile US was the victim of a cyberattack. The attackers gained access to some data, the mobile phone provider said. However, it is not yet clear whether the hackers obtained information about the customers as well. The site “Motherboard” had written this weekend that the data of more than 100 million people was offered on the Internet, which according to the salesman came from the servers of the company. In addition to names, phone numbers, and addresses, the information also includes U.S. Social Security numbers and driver’s license data. With such large datasets, cybercriminals could wreak havoc. According to T-Mobile US, the entry point for the data breach is now closed, but extensive checks continued.
