Consumer advocates – lawsuit against Commerzbank – economics

The Hamburg Consumer Center is suing Commerzbank over custody fees on savings accounts. The practice of charging such fees is illegal from the point of view of consumer advocates. This also applies to the Bank of Frankfurt’s plan to enter into agreements with existing customers on custody rights disguised as “credit charges”. Consumer advocates have filed a complaint with the Frankfurt Regional Court. Commerzbank declined to comment. “Customers should not only be paid more interest, but also pay for the loan they gave,” said Sandra Klug, consumer advocate.
