Cloud business – Google invests a billion in Germany – Economy

The American technology group Google will invest more than a billion euros in German business by 2030. On the one hand, Google is using the money to expand its cloud region of Frankfurt / Main with a new data center in Hanau . A whole new cloud region is even being implemented in the greater Berlin area. In addition, the group will indirectly finance wind farms and solar systems via a supply contract with Cologne energy supplier Engie in order to be able to use the cloud with renewable energies. Google has been present in Germany since 2001 and has more than 2,500 employees there. The new systems will make it easier to meet demand for cloud services in Germany, according to Google.
